The City's current Zoning Ordinance was adopted in 1994. Periodically, the City Plan Commission considers and recommends amendments to the Ordinance to address issues that have arisen or in response to constituent requests. |
The Deparment has been working for several months on a package of amendments to the Zoning Ordinance in response to the goals and objectives of Providence Tomorrow: The Interim Comprehensive Plan, which was adopted in December 2007. On February 17, 2009, the City Plan Commission completed their review of the proposed zoning amendments and recommended the following package of amendments to the City Council.
The package of amendments was submitted to the City Council on February 26, 2009. As part of their review of the proposed amendments, the City Council will hold a public hearing. The date of that public hearing will be posted here once it is known.
